Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Dispatcher to join our logistics team! In this vital role, you will coordinate the movement of freight, vehicles, and personnel to ensure smooth transportation operations. Duties Coordinate and schedule vehicle dispatches using transportation management systems (TMS) and vehicle dispatch software to ensure timely deliveries and pickups Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, customers, and internal teams via multi-line phone systems and internal communication platforms Monitor GPS and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) data to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and improve transportation planning Manage freight shipments by verifying shipping & receiving documentation, updating data entry logs, and ensuring compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations Oversee road transportation operations by coordinating with fleet management teams to maintain vehicle availability and schedule maintenance as needed Handle phone call management with professionalism and courtesy, providing exceptional customer service while addressing inquiries or resolving issues Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, shipment statuses, driver logs, and related documentation using logistics software such as Oracle Transportation Management or SyteLine Support shipping & receiving processes by organizing freight movement schedules and ensuring adherence to safety protocols Experience Proven experience in dispatching within a logistics or transportation environment Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS), vehicle dispatch software, and fleet management tools Strong knowledge of road transportation operations, shipping & receiving procedures, and DOT regulations Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for data entry and reporting tasks Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems and phone etiquette professionally Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting Analysis skills for route optimization, freight tracking, and problem resolution are highly valued Experience working within 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) environments or supply chain management is a plus Join us as a Dispatcher and become an essential part of our logistics network! $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
