Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Dispatcher to join our transportation and logistics team. In this vital role, you will coordinate the movement of freight and shipments, ensuring timely deliveries and optimal fleet utilization. As a Dispatcher, you will serve as the central hub for scheduling, tracking, and managing transportation activities, contributing directly to our commitment to exceptional service and operational excellence. Responsibilities Coordinate and schedule pickups and deliveries using transportation management systems (TMS) such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine. Utilize GPS and GIS tools to monitor vehicle locations, optimize routes, and improve transportation planning. Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, warehouse staff, and clients via multi-line phone systems while maintaining professional phone etiquette. Enter data accurately into systems like AS400 and Freight Management platforms to track shipments, freight details, and delivery statuses. Manage shipping & receiving schedules, ensuring compliance with safety standards and company policies. Oversee fleet management activities including vehicle dispatching, maintenance scheduling, and utilization tracking. Analyze logistics data to identify opportunities for process improvements within supply chain operations. Maintain detailed records of dispatch activities, shipment statuses, and incident reports for audit purposes. Collaborate with third-party logistics providers (3PL) to coordinate freight movement efficiently across multiple carriers. Experience Proven experience in dispatching within transportation management or logistics environments. Familiarity with transportation planning tools such as Oracle Transportation Management or similar TMS platforms. Strong understanding of supply chain processes including shipping & receiving, freight management, and fleet operations. Knowledge of GPS technology, GIS mapping tools, and route optimization techniques. Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems professionally. Demonstrated analysis skills for evaluating transportation data to enhance efficiency. Experience working with warehouse management systems like SyteLine or AS400 is preferred. Ability to perform data entry accurately under tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
