In this vital role, you will coordinate the movement of freight across multiple transportation modes, ensuring seamless intermodal operations that meet customer expectations and comply with industry regulations. Your proactive communication skills and attention to detail will drive efficiency, optimize fleet utilization, and enhance overall supply chain performance. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of transportation planning and logistics management within a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Coordinate and dispatch freight shipments utilizing transportation management systems, vehicle dispatch software, and GPS tracking tools to ensure timely deliveries. Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, customers, and internal teams via multi-line phone systems and internal communication platforms to relay instructions, updates, and resolve issues promptly. Monitor road transportation operations, including freight pickup, delivery schedules, and vehicle routing, while adhering to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Manage shipping and receiving documentation accurately through data entry and logistics software such as Oracle Transportation Management. Track shipment progress using GIS (Geographic Information Systems) data and GPS technology to optimize routes and improve efficiency. Handle phone call management professionally by maintaining clear communication etiquette while addressing inquiries related to freight status and scheduling. Support supply chain activities by analyzing transportation data, assisting with freight planning, and coordinating intermodal transfers between rail, truck, and port facilities. Skills Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS), vehicle dispatch software, and logistics platforms such as Oracle Transportation Management. Strong knowledge of road transportation operations, fleet management, shipping & receiving procedures, and freight handling. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently using multi-line phone systems and data entry tools. Effective communication skills for internal coordination and customer service via phone calls or written correspondence. Familiarity with GIS mapping tools, GPS tracking devices, and analysis skills for route optimization. Understanding of DOT regulations governing freight transport and vehicle safety standards.
