DISPATCHER - FULL TIME

Capacity Express Inc. Capacity Express Inc. is looking for an experienced, highly organized Freight Dispatcher to join our growing logistics team. We are seeking someone who thrives in a fast-paced transportation environment, communicates effectively, and knows how to keep freight moving from pickup through final delivery. The ideal candidate understands freight brokerage operations, carrier coordination, load tracking, and the importance of proactive communication with both customers and drivers. Key Responsibilities Dispatch and coordinate freight shipments from pickup through delivery Source and communicate with qualified carriers and drivers Negotiate carrier rates while protecting company margins Track and monitor loads throughout transit Provide proactive shipment updates to customers Schedule pickup and delivery appointments Verify driver availability, equipment type, location, and hours of service Identify and resolve delays, service failures, and transportation issues quickly Communicate pickup numbers, delivery requirements, BOL information, and special instructions Maintain accurate shipment notes and documentation within the TMS Assist with detention, layovers, TONUs, and other accessorial charges Confirm PODs and required shipment documentation are received Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers and customers Work closely with the brokerage and operations teams to ensure service expectations are exceeded Qualifications Freight dispatching, freight brokerage, trucking, or logistics experience preferred Strong understanding of the transportation and freight industry Experience working with load boards such as DAT preferred Experience with transportation management and tracking platforms is a plus Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills Excellent phone, email, and written communication skills Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities simultaneously Strong attention to detail and follow-through Comfortable working in a high-volume, time-sensitive environment Ability to remain calm and solution-focused when transportation issues arise Strong computer and technology skills Team-oriented with a high level of accountability What We're Looking For We want someone who understands that successful freight dispatching is more than booking a truck.
