Job Description

Position Overview abj Fire Protection is seeking an organized, dependable, and customer-focused Fire Alarm Dispatcher to join our team. This position plays a critical role in coordinating our fire alarm service operations, supporting field technicians, and ensuring customers receive prompt and professional service. The ideal candidate is an effective communicator who can manage changing priorities, remain calm under pressure, and keep technicians and customers informed throughout the day. Previous dispatching or fire alarm industry experience is helpful, but we are willing to train the right person. Key Responsibilities Schedule and dispatch fire alarm technicians for service calls, inspections, repairs, and emergency requests. Respond professionally to incoming customer calls and emails. Gather accurate information regarding customer needs, system issues, site contacts, and access requirements. Prioritize calls based on urgency, technician availability, location, and required skill set. Communicate schedule changes and job details clearly to technicians and customers. Create and maintain service work orders within the company's scheduling and service-management systems. Monitor technicians' daily progress and assist with adjustments when emergencies or delays occur. Coordinate with service managers, inspectors, project managers, and other departments. Confirm that completed work orders contain the information needed for billing and follow-up. Maintain accurate customer records, inspection documentation, and service history. Help identify outstanding work, deficiencies, and customer follow-up items. Provide general administrative support to the Alarm & Detection team. Qualifications Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Professional and courteous customer-service skills. Strong attention to detail and follow-through. Comfortable working with computers, email, scheduling software, and Microsoft Office. Ability to work independently while contributing to a team. Previous dispatching, customer service, construction, or service-industry experience is preferred. Fire alarm or fire protection experience is a plus but is not required. Pay:
$25.00 - $35.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
