Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic logistics team as a Night Time Trucking /Towing Dispatcher, where you'll play a vital role in coordinating and managing break downs/ environmental spills during overnight hours. This energetic position offers an exciting opportunity to ensure seamless transportation operations, optimize fleet utilization, and deliver exceptional service to our customers. As a key communicator between drivers, and clients, you will be the backbone of efficient road transportation operations, driving success through proactive dispatching and meticulous organization. Your expertise in transportation / towing planning, logistics systems, and communication will help keep our supply chain moving smoothly through the night. Responsibilities Coordinate and dispatch break down / police calls during overnight shifts, ensuring timely pickups and on scene. Utilize vehicle dispatch software and transportation management systems such as Management to monitor fleet status, route progress, and delivery schedules. Manage multi-line phone systems to communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and internal teams, providing clear instructions and updates. Enter data accurately into logistics databases while maintaining detailed records of dispatch activities, statuses, and incident reports. Oversee GPS and Tow books tools to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and troubleshoot logistical issues in real-time. Qualifications Proven experience in dispatching within towing /environmental planning or logistics environments; familiarity with road transportation operations is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS), vehicle dispatch software, Tow books. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively using multi-line phone systems and data entry tools. Demonstrated communication skills—both verbal and written—with a focus on phone etiquette and internal communication protocols. Ability to analyze logistical data using analysis skills to resolve issues quickly and improve dispatch processes. Knowledge of DOT regulations related to towing and driver hours of service compliance. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Quick books for reporting and documentation purposes. Strong customer service orientation with the ability to handle phone calls professionally under pressure.
