Operations Manager / General Manager Position Summ_ary The Operations Supervisor is responsible for supporting the daily success of the DSP operation with a strong focus on fleet readiness, driver training, safety, and on-road performance. This role helps ensure vans are compliant, well-maintained, and route-ready each day while also coaching and developing drivers to meet company and DSPs standards for safety, service, and efficiency. The Operations Supervisor works closely with leadership, dispatch, and drivers to maintain a high-performing and accountable operation. Key Responsibilities Fleet Management Oversee daily fleet readiness to ensure all vehicles are clean, fueled or charged, safe, and route-ready. Conduct and monitor pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspection processes. Track vehicle damage, maintenance needs, registration, insurance, tolls, and compliance documentation. Coordinate repairs, preventative maintenance, and downtime reduction with vendors, leasing partners, and internal leadership. Monitor fleet utilization and support van assignments based on operational needs. Ensure all vehicles meet DSPs and company safety standards at all times. Maintain accurate records of repairs, incidents, inspections, and vehicle status. Driver Training and Development Lead onboarding and training for new drivers, including ride-alongs, mentorship, and classroom or hands-on instruction. Coach drivers on safe driving habits, delivery quality, customer service, pace, and route execution. Reinforce DSP expectations related to compliance, safety, scanning, vehicle inspections, and proper delivery procedures. Provide retraining and corrective coaching for drivers with safety events, performance concerns, or policy violations. Support ongoing development of drivers to improve scorecards, reduce incidents, and strengthen retention. Identify high-potential team members for advancement and leadership development. Operations Support Assist with daily load-out, dispatch, and return-to-station activities. Support route coverage planning, staffing adjustments, and call-out management. Monitor driver performance metrics, attendance, and adherence to company policies. Respond to on-road issues including accidents, breakdowns, rescues, and delivery escalations. Communicate regularly with managers regarding fleet issues, driver progress, safety concerns, and operational challenges. Help maintain a culture of accountability, professionalism, and teamwork. Safety and Compliance Promote a safety-first culture across the operation. Ensure compliance with DOT, DSPs and company policies and procedures. Investigate vehicle damage, incidents, and safety concerns and assist with follow-up documentation. Conduct safety meetings, refresher trainings, and performance discussions as needed. Support corrective action processes related to driver behavior, attendance, and vehicle care. Qualifications Previous experience in transportation, logistics, fleet operations, delivery operations, or warehouse leadership preferred. Supervisory or team lead experience preferred. Strong knowledge of fleet coordination, vehicle inspections, and driver coaching. Ability to train, motivate, and hold team members accountable. Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities. Proficient with technology, apps, and reporting tools used in delivery operations. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required. Must be able to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays as needed. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and move throughout the workday. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. May need to lift packages or materials up to [50] pounds.
