SCOPE OF JOB
The Dispatch Manager is responsible for scheduling and dispatching workers, work crews, and equipment to appropriate locations in accordance with customer requests.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare daily and run schedules. Determine type and amount of equipment needed to complete a job. Communicate with customers regarding scheduling, crews, and equipment for their projects. Monitor personnel and equipment locations. Maintain files and records of work orders completed. Meet with Sales team to develop a project plan for execution and completion. Build and maintain strong relationships with drivers and helpers to facilitate teamwork and collaboration. ________________________________________________________________________________
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Dispatch experience required. Knowledge of the traffic control industry preferred. Basic computer and electronic skills. Ability to read traffic control plans preferred. Administration and management skills. Effective communication skills. Stress management; ability to work under constant pressure. Effective time management skills.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school degree or equivalent education/experience preferred. Five years of experience in the traffic control industry preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Sedentary - primarily sitting at a desk for the majority of the day; occasional movement inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Occasionally exerts up to 10 pounds of force, and frequently or constantly exerts a negligible amount of force, to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Frequently operates a computer and other office equipment such as a calculator, copy machine, computer printer, etc. Visual acuity is constantly required to ensure the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned. Constantly communicates with customers and employees in other departments. Must be able to exchange accurate information verbally and in writing.
