Truck Dispatcher Location:
Colfax, WA 99111
Pay:
$20.00-$30.00 per hour, depending on experience
Schedule:
Monday-Friday | 7:00 AM-4:00
PM Busy Season:
6:00 AM-4:00 PM | Monday-Sunday | Mandatory OT Are you an experienced Dispatcher, CDL/DOT driver, transportation professional, or logistics coordinator? We are hiring a Transportation Dispatcher in Colfax, WA to coordinate drivers, trucks, customer orders, and agricultural product deliveries throughout the region. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who understands trucking and DOT-regulated transportation and enjoys logistics, problem-solving, customer service, and keeping drivers moving efficiently.
Schedule Standard Schedule:
Monday-Friday | 7:00 AM-4:00
PM Spring & Fall Busy Seasons:
6:00 AM-4:00 PM | Monday-Sunday Mandatory overtime and weekend availability are required during peak agricultural seasons. What You'll Do Take, confirm, coordinate, and dispatch product orders from internal and external customers. Dispatch trucks and drivers efficiently while minimizing unloaded or empty miles. Communicate directly with drivers and customers regarding load details, routes, timing, delivery requirements, and schedule changes. Match available drivers and equipment with loads based on operational needs. Create maps, plan routes, and utilize dispatch and transportation software. Coordinate closely with the Dispatch Manager, bookkeeper, drivers, customers, and office team. Maintain accurate files and records for employee training, trucks, trailers, vehicles, and equipment. Respond to changing transportation needs and solve scheduling or delivery issues as they arise. Maintain professional and consistent communication with drivers and customers. Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. What We're Looking For 2+ years of dispatch experience OR equivalent experience transporting goods in DOT-regulated commercial vehicles. Working knowledge of DOT rules and regulations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong phone etiquette and customer service abilities. Strong organization, prioritization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate professionally with drivers, customers, and office staff. Comfortable making decisions and adjusting plans in a fast-paced transportation environment. Computer proficiency and ability to learn new dispatch software. Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and web-based programs. High school diploma or GED equivalent. Ability and willingness to work mandatory overtime and weekends during spring and fall busy seasons. Candidates with backgrounds in truck dispatching, transportation logistics, CDL/DOT driving, agricultural transportation, fleet coordination, or other high-volume dispatch environments are encouraged to apply. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods. Standing desk accommodations are available.
