Perform Dispatch Duties, which includes taking and processing load order; planning, organizing and scheduling load/delivery times; calling carriers: and loading/unloading. Communicate with the Transportation Manager and/or other department managers should any shipping/schedule issues arise on a timely basis. Supervises and directs the work of transport and spreader drivers. Communicates with the Terminal Managers and Maintenance Department to ensure that equipment work orders are current. Utilizes all information passed from the Sales Department for maximum results. Processes and posts required information on delivery tickets to ensure accurate invoice billing. Assist the Transportation Manager with 24-hours phone coverage as needed. This includes being "On-call" to cover the phones when needed during the week and weekends. Maintains records and file pertinent to DOT requirements; includes equipment registrations and driver qualification files; Notifies drivers of expiration of medical cards and Commercial driver license. Assist in maintaining records/files pertinent to the dept and company. Perform routine clerical work as assigned to maintain the dept records keeping (i.e. drivers' log, inspection reports, fuel usage, etc.). Maybe assigned to perform additional duties of various functions of the transportation dept. such as picking up or delivering drivers to units at repair facilities, picking up parts for company vehicles. Always works safely and takes action to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors. Perform other duties as assigned.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
