Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Emergency Management Specialist for the Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O).Under the supervision of the Director of Emergency Management, the Emergency Management Specialist performs a variety of technical, analytical and administrative duties related to planning, design, implementation and maintenance of Emergency Operational, Safety, and Security Plans. The scopes of support will extent to all emergency management planning and operational functions. Among the key duties of this position are the following: Provides Problematic and technical assistance to coordinate emergency systems and advise the OEM Director and Public Safety Administration on all matters related to technical aspects. Continually inspects for and assesses hazards using an "All Hazards" approach. Provide event assessment to determine level of planning, resources allocation and operational direction. One-on-one communicator of university policies and procedures. Responds to the activation of the Emergency Operations Center during times of emergencies and requests for crisis assistance and management. Participates in the preparation of annual and multi-year comprehensive operational development plans. Assist with site assessments in association with disasters, hazard assessments and investigations. Participates in activities and meetings with stakeholder, professional associations and officials in the area of their expertise.
