Job Description

Summary of Key Responsibilities The Warehouse Supervisor oversees all activities related to shipping, receiving, storing, inventorying, and the distribution of goods within the facility. This role has primary supervisory responsibility for the overall warehouse and shipping/receiving operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Oversee receipt of warehouse shipments according to standard procedures and ensure proper placement of goods in the warehouse. Prepare and maintain reports and records as required; ensure receiving and requisition data entry are completed promptly. Schedule, direct, and participate in special and periodic inventories as required. Develop and implement more efficient and effective storage and control procedures. Ensure team members are thoroughly trained in all aspects of warehouse and receiving operations. Establish team members' work schedules and coordinate coverage for PTO and absences as necessary. Make recommendations related to hiring, promoting, and terminating Receiving and Warehouse staff. Keep purchasing personnel informed of all pertinent information regarding warehouse and dock operations. Collaborate with procurement staff to develop, evaluate, and implement warehouse and dock procedures. Advise and train employees on care and preservation of items received and stored. Ensure compliance with OSHA laws, hazardous waste procedures, and safe materials handling and storage practices. Provide exceptional customer service and maintain professional communication at all times. Manage driver routes and schedules where applicable. Oversee maintenance of company vehicles as required. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills / Knowledge Three to five years of progressive warehouse/receiving experience, including supervisory responsibilities. Strong inventory management and control experience. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as inventory control system software. SAP experience is a plus. Must have, or qualify for, appropriate licenses required to operate pallet jacks, forklifts, reach lifts, and other warehouse equipment. Working knowledge of inventory control systems and procedures. Spanish speaking ability is a definite plus. Physical Demands Regularly required to see, talk, and hear; use hands to handle or feel objects. Must be able to operate warehouse equipment, including hand jacks and powered lift trucks/forklifts. Reach with hands and arms; stand and walk for extended periods. Frequently required to stoop or kneel. Occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds.
