Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Facilities Manager to oversee the operations of a new inpatient rehabilitation hospital. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in facilities management, mechanical systems, and team supervision. This leadership role requires a comprehensive understanding of maintenance procedures, safety regulations, and engineering troubleshooting to ensure the hospital's infrastructure operates efficiently, safely, and in compliance with industry standards. The Facilities Manager will be instrumental in managing maintenance teams, coordinating repairs, and implementing preventative maintenance programs to support optimal patient care environments.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the daily operation of the department to include preventive maintenance tasks and assignments, work requests and assignments, and multiple tasks involving a variety of services provided by the department Serves as the facilities liaison to property owners of leased sites as well as being responsible for related interior maintenance requests Participates in the selection, management and quality control of outside contractors and vendors and Provides oversight of external contractors and ensures regulatory requirements are met Maintains an inventory of parts and supplies to maximize the operational readiness of hospital building systems and equipment while monitoring costs, regulations and priorities Identifies potential operational issues and addresses them proactively Conduct regular facilities rounds in order to remain proactive with building maintenance Coordinates the repair of equipment or recommends replacement Familiar with and able to instruct others in the service and maintenance of equipment and facilities systems Assume responsibility for the department budget and identifies savings opportunities and revenue enhancements that add value to departmental or facility processes Assist with logistics and physical planning and set-up of outside functions related to the Brooks Health System Leads the facilities and maintenance department and ensures staff performance and development Prepare and keep appropriate records required for accreditation, compliance and other regulatory purposes (i.e. ACHA, Fire Marshall, Joint Commission, CARF, Infection Control) Attend key management meetings such as Environment of Care, Safety, Disaster Preparedness, Quality and other hospital and health system management meetings Work collaboratively with Safety and Security Department to ensure the environmental safety of facilities and grounds for patients, staff and visitors Assists the Systems Director of Safety, Security & Emergency Management with planning, developing and implementing the Safety, Security, preparedness program for the Arizona Region including all associated activities and documentation. Responsible for the development and maintenance of required Comprehensive Emergency Management Plans, Emergency Operation Plans, Security Management Plans, Continuity of Operation Plans and associated training documents for the region. Maintain best practices in safety, security & preparedness thru policy, procedure and protocol review. Make recommendations as needed. Support the Director in the planning and facilitation of committee meetings as requested; may sit on various committees related to workplace safety, quality council, infection control, patient satisfaction etc. Be active in outside professional organizations as needed to maintain relationships with other healthcare partners, government organizations and key private entities that may support Brooks in a time of need. Assist the Director in monitoring and reporting on safety and security protocols, metrics, and related matters. Collaborate to mitigate. Will serve as the operational resource for assigned facility leadership and other employees for work-related safety, security and preparedness protocols, procedures and training. Ensure required safety audits, inspections, after action reports, and other related reports are completed in a timely and accurate manner. Coordinate and inspect the environment of care in assigned geographic locations. In the absence of the Director, liaison with regulatory and government organizations during survey or inspection. Support all manner of safety, security & preparedness activities across the region as needed. Assist in coordinating and performing regulatory required training and drills necessary to meet regulatory requirements and maintain preparedness levels. This includes evening and night training/drills. (TJC, CARF, local & state) Provide support with monitoring and responding to all manners of safety and security systems. Included are fire alarms, security alarms, access control, panic alarms, mass notification system, security cameras, elopement alarms, ect. Support physical security measures and activities, conduct threat assessments, coordinate mitigation activities as necessary to maintain safety & security. Support incident response and other situations as needed for life safety and continuity of operation for a facility or system of care. Support the Incident Management System and Emergency Operations Center for the facility during emergencies and disasters. May act as the incident commander in the absence of leadership. Collaborate with risk management, Human Resources, contracted security services, and law enforcement to support all forms of internal investigations. Document appropriately.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and/or 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in large organization maintenance and/or construction Experience in a healthcare setting required. General knowledge of building systems, regulations and codes (i.e.mechanical, electric and plumbing) required Outstanding verbal and written communication skills required with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization Experience with MS Office applications required Strong communication and relationship management skills required Critical thinking and problem solving skills required Join our team as we build a state-of-the-art inpatient rehabilitation hospital dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care through well-maintained facilities managed by a committed professional like you!
Pay:
$48,813.29 - $58,785.89 per year
