Option Years Job Overview:
We are seeking a Facility Space Planning Support Specialist to lead space management, utilization, and optimization functions for the 50th Civil Engineer Squadron (50 CES) . In this role, you will act as the primary technical consultant for spatial analysis, ensuring base infrastructure is used efficiently to enable Space Force operations and tenant missions. Your work will focus on footprint reduction, asset management, and the implementation of the installation Facility Space Optimization Plan (FSOP).
Key Responsibilities Spatial Analysis:
Perform detailed analysis using NexGen IT (TRIRIGA) to maintain facility use data, category codes, and personnel assignments.
Requirement Validation:
Review and validate 15-25 ad-hoc space requests annually against
AFMAN 32-1084
criteria.
Site Audits:
Conduct monthly physical facility inspections to capture real-time usage data and identify consolidation or demolition opportunities.
Strategic Beddown Planning:
Coordinate unit relocations, mission beddowns, and lease reductions with engineering and community planning teams.
Board Support:
Prepare floor plan markups, utilization graphics, and analytical summaries for quarterly Facilities Boards to guide leadership decisions.
Strategic Documentation:
Update the FSOP quarterly and develop annual Customer Authorization Worksheets (CAWs) in coordination with AFCEC and GIS teams.
Qualifications & Required Skills:
To be considered for this position, you must demonstrate a combination of the following professional background and technical competencies: Professional Foundation (Must meet at least ONE of the following): A bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, Interior Design, Facility Management , or a closely related field. OR at least 3 years of equivalent experience specifically dedicated to facility space management and asset optimization.
Technical Database Proficiency:
Proven ability to navigate and update real property databases, with a strong preference for experience in NexGen IT (TRIRIGA) .
Analytical Expertise:
Comprehensive skill in analyzing both quantitative and qualitative facility data to develop strategic, data-driven space consolidation plans.
Communication Skills:
The ability to clearly communicate complex planning decisions, spatial data, and strategic recommendations to installation leadership.
Regulatory Knowledge:
Practical understanding of Air Force facility standards and the ability to apply
AFMAN 32-1084
requirements to space authorizations.
Security Clearance/Access:
Must be able to obtain and maintain a favorable National Agency Check w/Inquiries (NACI) for unescorted access to restricted military areas
