Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Facilities Specialist to join our team and ensure the smooth operation, maintenance, and safety of our facilities. This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical expertise and passion for facilities management in a fast-paced environment. As a Facilities Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of our facilities, making and overseeing repairs, and supporting a safe and efficient workspace for all employees. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help us uphold high standards of facility performance and safety. Maintain Church facility and all equipment in good condition. Assist in maintaining and addressing any issues identified at the parsonage. Assist with the development and implementation of a preventative maintenance plan. Under the supervision of the Church Administrator, give general oversight to the maintenance program and cleaning plan as developed by the Trustees, closely communicating with the Church Administrator. Assist as directed by the Church Administrator and Safety Team Leader in security of church property by locking and unlocking exterior access doors at the beginning and end of a service or event. Set-up and breakdown for special events. Order custodial supplies as needed. Internet part and supply search, place orders, and respond to suppliers and vendors. Work closely with all church staff to satisfy requests including worship arts and hospitality. Willingness and ability to run occasional errands for supplies, repairs, or visits to the parsonage. Participate in church hurricane preparedness activities. Take out garbage, check restroom supplies, and clean restrooms as necessary. Be a highly disciplined self-starter of good moral and Christian character. Must be able to coordinate and work with contract services and volunteers. Must have a general knowledge of maintenance and cleaning of church facilities. Computer proficient and be able to perform internet search and email. This position requires the individual to work effectively in a Christian atmosphere. It is critical he/she cooperates with the staff members and volunteers in a manner that builds a team spirit. Must have education for an adequate understanding in the area of maintenance; be able to carry out a regular maintenance program and to supervise contracts. Must have adequate knowledge to assist and maintain a clean facility for all church activities. Reliable and dependable transportation is required. Ability to develop, modify and complete weekly/monthly checklists to ensure consistency and completeness of routine duties. Prior experience in the field of maintenance and cleaning is preferred.

$19.24 per hour
