Job Description

Join our team as the Facilities Manager and help ensure the Round Lake Area Public Library remains safe, clean, and welcoming for staff and patrons. This hands-on leadership position oversees the maintenance, operation, and appearance of the library's building, grounds, equipment, and vehicles. The Facilities Manager supervises maintenance staff, coordinates contractors and vendors, performs routine maintenance and repairs, custodial duties as needed, and serves as the library's primary contact for facility-related issues. Requirements High school diploma or G.E.D. required; technical or vocational training in facilities maintenance or a related field preferred. Three to five years of experience in facilities maintenance, building operations, or custodial management, preferably in a public, commercial, or institutional facility. Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, general building maintenance, preventative maintenance practices, and building safety regulations. Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, maintenance equipment, lawn equipment, and other machinery in indoor and outdoor environments. Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds, push or pull wheeled items up to 200 pounds, climb ladders, move furniture, and perform physical work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Valid Illinois drivers' license and reliable transportation. Successful completion of a background check.
