TENACRE COUNTRY DAY SCHOOL
Facilities Associate Full-Time, Hourly Position | 2026-2027
Compensation:
$20-$30/hour
Schedule:
9-5 or 10-6, Mon-Fri Reports to: Director of Facilities and Operations Tenacre Country Day School is seeking a dependable, skilled, and collaborative Facilities Associate to help maintain our buildings and grounds and support the day-to-day needs of our school community. Tenacre's mission is to nurture and challenge each child, every day. As a community of children and adults, we strive to work hard, find joy, and be kind.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain school buildings and grounds in a safe, clean, orderly, and attractive condition. Respond to maintenance requests, including painting, minor repairs, general maintenance, and small construction projects. Assist with carpentry, plumbing, lighting, cleaning, equipment upkeep, and other routine facility needs. Set up and break down spaces for school programs, meetings, rentals, and events, including some after-hours and weekend events. Support Tenacre Summer Programs, deliveries and supply distribution, outdoor play areas, and seasonal snow and ice removal. Use the Limble task-tracking system and communicate effectively with staff, vendors, and facility-related service providers.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent. Five or more years of hands-on facilities, maintenance, custodial, or related experience preferred. Experience with general building repair and maintenance; familiarity with HVAC, fire protection, building/fire codes, ADA guidelines, and OSHA is helpful. Strong interpersonal and written communication skills; ability to collaborate in a diverse school community and use computer-based technology. Flexibility, sound judgment, and a willingness to support the needs of the whole school.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This active position requires regular walking and standing, stair use, stooping, lifting and carrying at least 50 pounds, and work in both indoor and outdoor conditions, including cold weather. The role may involve ladders, a Genie lift, moving mechanical equipment, and occasionally loud environments. Reasonable accommodations will be made as required.
