POSITION OVERVIEW
Dwyer Marble & Stone Supply is seeking a proactive, organized, and solutions-focused Fleet & Facilities Manager to oversee the facilities, fleet, equipment, and operational infrastructure that support our growing organization. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, managing vendors, improving processes, controlling costs, and making sure the equipment and facilities behind an operation are safe, reliable, and ready to perform. The Fleet & Facilities Manager will oversee preventative maintenance, repairs, compliance, vendors, budgets, assets, and operational projects across multiple locations. This position will also support our driver and warehouse teams by ensuring vehicles, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained and available when needed. This is a hands-on operational leadership role for someone who can balance day-to-day problem solving with long-term planning and continuous improvement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Facilities Management Oversee building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, security, fire protection, doors, docks, and other facility infrastructure. Manage preventative maintenance, inspections, repairs, renovations, and facility improvement projects. Coordinate grounds maintenance, snow removal, waste services, contractors, and service providers. Ensure facilities remain safe, secure, compliant, clean, and ready to support daily operations. Respond to significant facility issues across company locations and help develop long-term solutions to recurring problems. Fleet & Equipment Management Oversee company trucks, trailers, forklifts, cranes, pallet jacks, racking, tools, and related operational equipment. Coordinate preventative maintenance, inspections, repairs, registrations, licensing, and compliance requirements. Support drivers with vehicle repairs, breakdowns, towing, and service coordination. Evaluate vehicle needs and work with dealers to obtain, analyze, and compare quotations for new vehicles. Assess specifications, pricing, operating needs, and overall value, and present well-supported recommendations to ownership for fleet purchases. Monitor fleet utilization, maintenance costs, asset performance, downtime, and replacement needs. Help ensure company assets are effectively utilized across all locations. Safety & Compliance Support compliance with OSHA, DOT, FMCSA, state, local, and other applicable regulations. Maintain required inspections, documentation, certifications, registrations, and compliance records. Identify safety risks and drive corrective action before they become larger problems. Support emergency preparedness, evacuation planning, fire drills, inspections, and related training. Vendor & Cost Management Manage relationships with contractors, dealerships, mechanics, towing providers, landlords, and other service partners. Obtain competitive quotes and negotiate pricing, terms, and scope of work. Analyze complex bids and proposals to determine the best overall solution based on operational requirements, specifications, cost, reliability, and long-term value. Monitor repair, maintenance, utility, equipment, and fleet-related expenses. Partner with the Operations Director on annual budgeting and major repair or replacement decisions. Evaluate repair-versus-replacement options and recommend solutions based on cost, operational impact, and long-term value. Projects & Continuous Improvement Coordinate renovations, facility upgrades, equipment installations, moves, and operational improvement projects. Identify opportunities to improve safety, reliability, efficiency, asset utilization, and cost performance. Evaluate new vendors, technology, equipment, and processes. Partner with Operations, Warehouse, Branch Leadership, Customer Success, Supply Chain, and other departments to support business needs.
