Job Description
Facilities Specialist (Evening Shift Part-Time) Purpose To assist in cleaning and maintaining our facilities by performing routine duties such as mopping, vacuuming, organizing supplies, setting up rooms, removing trash, etc. These hours will be scheduled by the Facilities Coordinator according to the organization's needs and ministry rhythms so that our facilities reflect a high standard of cleanliness. Key Responsibilities Remove trash and clutter from all areas; replace liners in trash bins throughout the facility. Clean and disinfect high-traffic areas, including restrooms, kids' rooms, offices, and common areas. Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors in assigned zones. Restock paper products, soap, and other general supplies in restrooms and supply closets. Set up and tear down tables, chairs, and equipment for ministry events, meetings, and services. Perform light preventative maintenance tasks (e.g., replacing HVAC filters, checking faucets, vacuum maintenance). Assist with seasonal deep cleaning projects and special event prep. Report facility issues or safety concerns to the Facilities Coordinator promptly. Support ministry teams with facility-related needs as requested. Qualifications Prior experience in custodial, janitorial, or facilities maintenance preferred. Ability to work independently and follow instructions with minimal supervision. Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety. Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, stoop, and be on your feet for extended periods. Flexible and adaptable to changing ministry needs and schedules. A heart to serve and support the mission of the church. Work Schedule & Hours Part-time (10-20 hours/week depending on season and ministry needs) Evening and weekend availability may be required, especially during services or events. Schedule will be coordinated weekly with the Facilities Coordinator. Physical Requirements Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull objects up to 50 lbs. Frequent walking, standing, bending, and reaching. Comfortable working indoors and occasionally outdoors in varying conditions.
