Job Description

Whether you come from a background in facilities management or building maintenance, you can be successful in this role. We don't require a particular degree, but we're looking for translatable skills and relevant expertise.
About The Role:
As a Facilities Specialist, you'll be the go-to person for making sure our First Residential office is running smoothly and feeling like home. From keeping an eye on building systems like HVAC, plumbing, cleaning, and electrical to handling general maintenance needs like painting and roofing, you'll help keep everything in top shape. You'll deliver results with a strong focus on great service, quick follow-up, and making sure folks feel taken care of. Here's a snapshot of what you'd be doing: Keeping First Residential spaces in great shape by handling day-to-day maintenance and cleaning needs. Taking care of routine maintenance and repairs across building systems. Diagnosing and inspecting mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues. Managing HVAC systems to keep them running smoothly. Staying ahead of problems by putting preventive maintenance plans in place. Knowing the rules, staying up to date with all local and federal safety regulations. Aligning with all applicable codes, regulations, and governmental agency and company directives related to building operations and work safety. Being ready to jump in during emergencies like power outages or leaks. Keeping maintenance logs and work orders up to date. Helping others grow by sharing expertise and coaching team members. Supporting our energy-saving goals by developing an energy management plan and helping systems run as efficiently as possible. Coordinating and assisting space planning, office renovations, and moves—you're part of making our spaces work better. Teaming up with the general contractor, building supervisor or skilled trade professionals to sort out any maintenance concerns quickly. Pitching in wherever needed (excluding licensed tasks) to help foster a supportive and collaborative team culture.
About You:
You're a great communicator, whether it's writing or speaking, you know how to get your point across clearly and effectively. You're comfortable working independently and as a part of a team. You're great at staying organized, managing your time, and keeping tasks on track. With a dedicated work ethic and a demonstrated ability to work well under pressure, you're the type of person people trust to show up consistently and get the job done. Providing exceptional customer service is second nature to you, and you always put people first. You thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment and love working as part of a team. You're comfortable with technology and can navigate basic computer systems with ease. You have a valid driver's license and a solid driving record, plus you're open to some travel when needed (around 10-15% of the time).
