Oversees maintenance and security of facilities; oversees renovation projects and monitors work to improve energy efficiency, productivity or employee safety. May work in manufacturing and production, or manage hotels, small apartment buildings, trailer parks or recreational facilities.

This position is ideal for someone who has already led a team and is ready to take the next step in their leadership career. As our Assistant Facility Director, you'll work alongside the Facility Director and Managing Partner to oversee the daily operations of our boarding, daycare, grooming, and guest experiences. You'll help coach employees, solve problems, maintain exceptional standards of care, and ensure every pet and every client receives an outstanding experience. This is not an entry-level management position. We're looking for someone who has already developed leadership skills and wants to continue growing within a company that values accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. What You'll Do Help oversee the daily operation of our pet boarding, daycare, grooming, and reception departments. Lead by example while working alongside your team. Coach, mentor, and develop employees through daily feedback and accountability. Ensure pets receive exceptional care while maintaining the highest safety standards. Assist with employee scheduling and labor management. Resolve client concerns with professionalism and confidence. Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training new team members. Monitor facility cleanliness, organization, and operational standards. Make sound operational decisions in the absence of the Facility Director. Maintain a positive, solution-focused workplace culture. Complete operational reports, inventory, and administrative responsibilities as assigned. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is a confident, dependable leader who enjoys building strong teams and creating exceptional experiences for both pets and their owners. Required Qualifications Minimum 1-2 years of experience leading or supervising a team. Previous leadership experience in a boarding, daycare, veterinary, grooming, or other animal care environment is strongly preferred. Proven ability to coach employees, provide accountability, and lead difficult conversations professionally. Comfortable making independent decisions in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Reliable transportation and dependable attendance are required. Ability to lift 50 pounds and remain active throughout the workday. Must successfully obtain PetTech® Pet First Aid & CPR Certification within six (6) months of hire. Must successfully obtain Fear Free® Certified Professional Certification within six (6) months of hire. Schedule & Availability This position is part of our leadership team and requires flexibility to support the operation when needed. Full-time with overtime as needed to support the facility. Five-day workweek Every other weekend working on-site Every other weekend serving as the on-call manager Rotating leadership schedule with the Facility Director to ensure continuous management coverage Must be available to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and occasional extended shifts based on business needs. Holiday availability is required, including Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Independence Day, Easter, and other peak business periods.
