A Facilities Specialist or Coordinator is in charge of building and equipment maintenance, building security systems, emergency plans, often for specific buildings only. May be involved in planning of new facilities. Acts as contact person between employees and outside contractors.
We are representing a facilities-focused opportunity for a hands-on technician who will help maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize critical HVAC and building systems. Our team is looking for a candidate who can support reliable day-to-day operations, contribute to preventive maintenance, and keep equipment performing safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
Diagnose, service, and repair refrigerant-based HVAC equipment, including chillers, DX units, heat pumps, rooftop units, and VRF/VRV systems. Perform refrigerant recovery, charging, leak detection, brazing, and compressor repairs in line with EPA and safety standards. Troubleshoot HVAC electrical components, low-voltage controls, sensors, and automation devices, while monitoring system performance and documenting maintenance activity. Support preventive maintenance, startups, commissioning, functional testing, and communication with facility teams regarding technical issues and recommended solutions.
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent. EPA Section 608 Certification (Universal). 3-5 years of hands-on experience servicing refrigerant-based HVAC systems. Proven experience troubleshooting compressors, refrigerant circuits, and mechanical components, along with working knowledge of HVAC electrical systems, low-voltage controls, and safety procedures. Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment documentation. Technical or vocational training in HVAC or a related field, plus experience with BAS/BMS platforms such as Johnson Controls, Trane, Siemens, Honeywell, or Schneider is preferred.
