Are you passionate about making a difference in your community? Do you take pride in maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming environments? Families in Transition is seeking a dedicated Facilities Associate to join our team and help us in our mission to prevent and break the cycle of homelessness. As a Facilities Associate, you'll play a vital role in ensuring all our properties, from housing units to offices, are well-maintained and ready for those we serve. This is a full time position, Monday - Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm
Salary:
$16.00 - $19.00 per hour
What You'll Do:
Perform a variety of general custodial responsibilities , including vacuuming, washing floors, sweeping, dusting, and cleaning walls and windows in common areas. Perform thorough and timely cleaning of apartments during turnover, ensuring they are move-in ready. Maintain the exterior of our buildings by picking up litter and cigarettes, and sweeping walkways and parking areas. Safely operate and maintain commercial cleaning equipment like vacuums, carpet extractors, burnishers, and buffers. You'll also help identify and report equipment needing repair or replacement. Actively monitor properties for safety deficiencies , such as failed light bulbs, damaged smoke detectors, or signs of water damage, and escalate issues to management. Manage and monitor inventory of cleaning supplies, notifying the Facilities Manager when stock is low. Open and close facilities , including disabling and enabling security alarm systems, and ensuring buildings are secured. Assist with general landscaping duties , which may include operating snow blowers, string trimmers, gas mowers, and various hand tools. Provide support to Facilities Technicians with tasks like painting, sheetrock repair, bulk trash removal, and moving appliances/furniture. Requirements:
A High School Diploma or GED Valid Driver's License and clean driving record The ability to travel to various Families in Transition locations in Manchester and Concord, as needed The physical capability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull objects up to 50 pounds Comfort working in both extremely cold and hot environments
Preferred:
1 year of cleaning, janitorial, or other trades experience helpful
