POSITION
Park and Facility Coordinator (Recreation Aide) SUMMARY The Recreation Park and Facility Coordinator is a full-time position with the Clifton Recreation Department in Clifton, New Jersey. The Park and Facility Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and supervising all aspects of the city's recreation facilities that include scheduling, training and managing facility staff, facility and park maintenance and upgrades, department fleet, and recommendations for capital improvements and public use. The recreation facilities include one community recreation center, one farm and 39 parks with amenities such as a skatepark, playgrounds, tennis/pickleball courts, basketball courts, athletic fields (both artificial and natural), a dog park, community gardens, splash pad, field houses, leisure sports amenities and open space. Work schedule is 8:15 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., with some evening and weekend responsibilities. The position is an entry level position with a salary range from $41,898.75 - $68,503.80. REQUIREMENTS
The position requires both office duties, utilizing computers and relevant software as well as outdoor duties as it relates to park and facility maintenance and management. Certified Playground Safety Inspector Certification is recommended but not required. The individual must have a valid New Jersey driver's license. Open to residents of Passaic and Essex County.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Develop and maintain procedural protocol for operation, evaluation and public use of facilities. Assist with hiring, evaluation and training of part-time staff/ seasonal staff assigned to facilities. Maintain and improve inter-departmental communications (i.e. Department of Public Works). Organize and manage youth groups, students and residents to perform community service projects & work with Eagle Scout program. Maintain accurate documentation of all annual projects, staff schedules and volunteer hours for department records and submit documentation for monthly and annual reports. Maintain infrastructure and memorial inventory of all recreation facilities. Conduct and document monthly park inspections May require maintenance and repair duties. May require some evening or weekend responsibilities. Responsible for preparing portions of the operating budget that relates to parks and facilities as well as budget requests for capital improvements, equipment and major maintenance. Assist in all other aspects of the department as needed.
