POSITION
Director of Facilities
DATE POSITION TO BE FILLED
December 2026 PRIMARY
RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee the overall operations of the maintenance, custodial, security, and transportation departments of the Rochester School for the Deaf (RSD). Coordinate the design, planning, maintenance, and construction of the school's facilities and properties. Ensure overall facilities operations comply with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations, as well as RSD policies. Monitor safety and security operations throughout the school campus. Manage and supervise facilities personnel and oversee external contractors involved in facility projects and delivery of services. Work collaboratively with the Administrative Team and the facilities personnel.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree or higher-level degree from an accredited college in School Facilities Management, Building Construction, or Engineering Technology and three years of experience in school facilities management, general building construction, or building maintenance that includes supervisory experience

•At least five years of work experience in school facilities management, general building construction, or building maintenance that includes supervisory experience Experience and knowledge of the construction, operation, and maintenance of plumbing, heating, electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment and systems Excellent communication, human relations, supervisory, organization, and management skills Ability to inspect the work of building tradespersons and contractors to ensure compliance with contract specifications and applicable codes and regulations Computer literacy: preferred programs include G-Suite, Genuity Intermediate Rating on the SLPI Motor vehicle driver's license valid in the State of New York required Willingness to work under adverse weather conditions
SALARY RANGE
$55,000
•$85,000 depending on experience Exempt, 12-month position
