We employ approximately 180 people in an 86,000-square-foot manufacturing and distribution facility. We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Facilities and Operations Manager to help manage the people, equipment, facility, and projects that support our manufacturing operation. This position works closely with our Production Manager but has a different focus. The Production Manager is responsible for the day-to-day production process and getting product out the door. The Facilities and Operations Manager is responsible for the broader operational needs of the facility that fall outside of direct production. This is a broad position for someone who enjoys variety and takes ownership of problems. On any given day, you might be working with our mechanics to prioritize an equipment repair, interviewing candidates for production positions, coordinating a building contractor, addressing an employee performance issue, or managing a facility improvement project. We are looking for a hands-on manager who gets things done. You will have people and resources available to help, but you should be comfortable taking ownership of projects, getting involved personally, coordinating the right people, and making sure projects get completed. Key Responsibilities Lead and coordinate our maintenance and mechanics team Manage building maintenance, repairs, contractors, and facility needs Coordinate equipment repairs and outside service providers Manage facility improvement, equipment installation, and operational projects Participate in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring production employees Handle employee coaching, performance, attendance, and disciplinary issues Work closely with the Production Manager to address operational issues affecting the manufacturing floor Maintain and prioritize multiple ongoing projects throughout the facility Coordinate outside contractors and vendors from initial quote through project completion Respond to unexpected facility and operational issues and take ownership of getting them resolved What We Are Looking For Significant experience in manufacturing, warehouse operations, facilities management, maintenance leadership, or a similar environment Experience managing employees and working across different departments Strong organizational skills and follow-through Ability to manage multiple unrelated projects and changing priorities Practical mechanical and facility knowledge Experience working with contractors and outside vendors Comfort handling employee performance and disciplinary situations Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills A hands-on management style and willingness to get personally involved when needed We are open to candidates from different professional backgrounds. The right person will have strong leadership experience, practical judgment, and a history of taking ownership of problems and seeing projects through to completion.
