Variable hours based on programs, rentals, leagues, tournaments, and special events; evenings and weekends required Position Summary The Blossom Hill Field House Supervisor is the primary on-site representative of the Brecksville Recreation Department during assigned programs, leagues, practices, rentals, tournaments, and special events. This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the facility, including opening and closing the building, preparing courts and event spaces, supervising facility use, assisting rental clients, responding to emergencies, enforcing policies, and communicating directly with the Athletics and Facilities Coordinator. Minimum Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age. High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in recreation, athletics, facility operations, customer service, event supervision, or a related area is preferred. Must be dependable, punctual, professional, and available to work evenings and weekends. Early mornings, holidays, and extended shifts may occasionally be required. Must be able to work independently, make responsible decisions, and remain calm during emergencies or difficult situations. Must successfully complete all required employment screenings and departmental training. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Facility Operations and Security Open and close Blossom Hill Field House according to established procedures. Ensure the building, offices, storage areas, equipment rooms, and restricted spaces remain secure throughout the assigned shift. Conduct regular walkthroughs of courts, hallways, lobby areas, restrooms, offices, parking areas, and the surrounding grounds. Monitor all activities taking place in the facility and confirm that individuals and groups are using approved spaces at their scheduled times. Maintain awareness of the daily schedule and ensure programs, rentals, leagues, tournaments, and special events begin and conclude as scheduled. Complete opening, closing, and facility inspection checklists as required. Sporting Events, Tournaments, and Facility Setup Prepare Blossom Hill Field House for athletic programs, practices, leagues, sporting events, tournaments, rentals, and special events. Set up, adjust, and tear down athletic equipment, including volleyball nets and standards, basketball hoops, pickleball nets, scorer's tables, team benches, chairs, bleachers, barriers, and event signage. Configure courts and activity spaces based on the requirements of each scheduled program or event. Follow court diagrams, event instructions, tournament schedules, and setup plans provided by the Athletics and Facility Coordinator. Inspect athletic equipment and event setups to ensure they are properly installed, secured, and safe for participant and spectator use. Prepare spectator seating, team areas, officials' areas, registration tables, vendor spaces, check-in areas, and other event spaces as directed. Assist with court transitions and equipment changes between games, programs, rentals, and tournament sessions. Coordinate setup and facility needs with coaches, officials, instructors, tournament directors, rental clients, vendors, and event organizers. Monitor events and tournaments to help maintain schedules and address operational or facility needs. Return all equipment, tables, chairs, bleachers, and supplies to their designated storage locations following each activity. Report damaged, missing, unsafe, or malfunctioning equipment to the Athletics and Facility Coordinator. Customer Service and Rental Supervision Serve as the primary on-site contact for rental clients, participants, parents, coaches, officials, instructors, spectators, and facility visitors. Welcome rental groups and review approved spaces, facility expectations, closing times, cleanup requirements, and applicable policies. Monitor rental groups and facility users to ensure compliance with rental agreements, schedules, and Recreation Department policies. Respond professionally to questions, concerns, complaints, and conflicts, and contact the Athletics and Facilities Coordinator when further direction is needed. Maintain a visible, approachable, and professional presence throughout each assigned shift. Safety and Emergency Response Maintain a safe environment for all facility users and promptly address unsafe conditions or behaviors. Understand and follow the facility Emergency Action Plan and all departmental emergency procedures. Respond appropriately to injuries, medical emergencies, fire alarms, severe weather, security concerns, and other emergency situations. Call 911 when emergency assistance is needed and meet or direct police, fire, or emergency medical personnel upon arrival. Assist with evacuations, shelter procedures, crowd management, and access control when necessary. Complete accurate incident, accident, injury, and facility reports before the end of the assigned shift. Immediately notify the Athletics and Facilities Coordinator of serious injuries, emergencies, property damage, security concerns, or significant incidents. Facility Appearance and Light Maintenance Maintain the general cleanliness and appearance of the Field House throughout the assigned shift. Complete light cleaning duties, including collecting trash, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, wiping surfaces, and addressing spills or minor messes. Ensure restrooms, courts, common areas, offices, entryways, and spectator areas remain presentable and safe. Identify and report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, property damage, or needed repairs. Place appropriate signage or restrict access to unsafe areas until the concern can be addressed. Ensure equipment and supplies are properly organized and returned to designated storage areas. Communication, Policy Enforcement, and Reporting Communicate facility concerns, scheduling issues, staffing needs, rental concerns, equipment problems, and unusual situations directly to the Athletics and Facilities Coordinator. Enforce City of Brecksville and Recreation Department rules, policies, procedures, rental agreements, and facility expectations. Address unsafe, disruptive, inappropriate, or unauthorized behavior in a calm and professional manner. Provide on-site direction to assigned part-time employees, scorekeepers, officials, instructors, or event staff when appropriate. Document policy violations, complaints, conflicts, maintenance concerns, and other significant incidents. Maintain confidentiality when handling participant, employee, medical, rental, or incident-related information. Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletics and Facilities Coordinator. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Ability to stand and walk throughout the facility for extended periods. Ability to frequently bend, reach, lift, push, pull, and carry equipment. Ability to move volleyball equipment, basketball equipment, pickleball nets, tables, chairs, bleachers, scorer's tables, and other facility materials. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to work in a busy environment with moderate to high noise levels. Ability to respond quickly to incidents or emergencies occurring throughout the facility. Ability to perform duties indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions when necessary. Standards of Performance Maintains a safe, secure, clean, and properly prepared facility. Demonstrates dependable attendance, punctuality, and professional conduct. Provides courteous and effective service to participants, rental clients, staff, officials, and members of the public. Completes reports, checklists, and required communication accurately and on time. Follows schedules, instructions, policies, safety procedures, and emergency protocols. Supports the goals, standards, and operations of the Brecksville Recreation Department and the City of Brecksville.

$12.00 - $16.00 per hour
