POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Facilities Director, the Facilities Technician is responsible for housekeeping, security, room setups, and light maintenance (as needed) for all the physical properties and grounds owned by Beck Center for the Arts. This includes general housekeeping (bathrooms, carpets), grounds maintenance (grass, weeding) as well as performing minimal repairs and maintenance, and implementation of loss prevention and safety procedures. The Facilities Technician often serves as a front-line interface with patrons and students, responding to emergency situations and providing a safe and physically comfortable environment for Beck Center programs and activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform housekeeping of two buildings, including maintenance of floors and carpet care, cleaning and stocking of restroom facilities, and quick/efficient cleaning in between theatrical productions and other activities. Set-up and restore of areas used for programs and activities, including unlocking and locking all required doors, turning on and off necessary lights, placement or teardown of tables/chairs/equipment as needed. Monitor all areas of the Center for debris and unsightly conditions. Maintain supply and storage areas in a neat and orderly condition. Maintain the grounds as needed, including snow/ice removal, lawn mowing and landscaping. Monitor interior and exterior areas of the Center and report to the Facilities Director any worn, damaged, and unsafe conditions, responding promptly and proactively to any routine needs. Assist visitors/patrons to the Center with a professional attitude. Perform basic repairs and maintenance as directed by the Facilities Manager. Monitor the safety systems of the Center and enforce all safety procedures and policies. Maintain flexible schedule as required by activity in the Center, including evenings, weekends.
QUALIFICATIONS
Vocational, trade school, or housekeeping and/or setup experience a plus but not required. Basic familiarity with housekeeping and maintenance, including floor care. Ability to physically handle all aspects of the job including climbing steps, work on ladders and carrying up to 50 pounds. Self-motivated; ability to work independently and proactively with little direction. Good verbal and written communication skills.
