Job Description

Summary:
The Facilities Coordinator is a reliable, hands-on team member dedicated to keeping the museum's indoor and outdoor spaces safe, clean, and fully operational. This role balances routine maintenance, facility inspections, and basic repairs with rental setup support for museum staff.
Work Schedule and Conditions:
Tuesday - Saturday, including evenings and holiday shifts in a museum environment. Ability to work outdoors, ascend and descend stairs and ladders, and frequently bend, stoop, sit, push, and lift items from the ground to above shoulder height.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
Conduct daily inspections of the museum's interior and exterior components to ensure appearance, cleanliness, and operational readiness. Respond to general custodial requests, including mopping floors, cleaning and stocking restrooms, emptying trash, and safely handling bodily fluid spills. Identify and report safety, maintenance needs, and facility issues promptly. Execute simple repairs (e.g., changing lightbulbs, fixing running toilets, patching drywall) as needed. Follow the preventive maintenance program to ensure all museum assets and equipment remain in proper working order. Comply with all safety regulations and maintain clean, orderly work areas. Serve as the museum's representative for building and groundwork performed by outside contractors. Work closely with staff to ensure rental and program spaces are clean, properly set up, and completely ready for public, private, and museum functions. Manage inventory for cleaning and maintenance supplies, monitoring usage to control operational costs. Support museum-wide special activities and additional projects as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficient in operating basic hand and power tools. Bring 3-5 years of experience in building maintenance. Strong organizational skills to manage service schedules, balance multiple projects, and independently prioritize competing demands. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of individuals. Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team. General working knowledge in electrical or plumbing.

$38,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
