The Department of Parks, Recreation & Forestry is seeking a Park Facilities Supervisor to perform work of considerable difficulty in food and beverage management, special events, and daily facilities management of Bay Beach Amusement Park, Triangle Sports Area, and Metropolitan Boat Launch.
Schedule:
Monday
- Friday, 8:00 a.m.
- 4:30 p.m. from November
- April. Rotating schedule of either 12:00 p.m.
- 8:30 p.m., 9:30 a.m.
- 6:00 p.m., 7:00 a.m.
- 3:30 p.m., or 1:00 p.m.
- 9:30 p.
m. during all other months which includes a combination of weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Work hours will vary by season.
Hiring Range :
$77,147

Provides daily management of park facilities, including supervising, coaching and goal setting, training, interviewing, and hiring. Manages the food and beverage program. Provides quality control, and audits and updates the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) plan. Designs food and beverage menus. Develops and administers customer service training, safe food handling training, and other food and beverage operational procedures and training programs. Manages the food and beverage budget and assists with developing the Triangle Sports Area budget. Reconciles daily revenue at facilities and balances safe. Manages, procures, prepares, and records inventory; forecasts inventory usage; manages shrink and waste; audits invoices; and completes applicable reports. Works with vendors on service and deliveries. Evaluates equipment and makes procurement recommendations as needed. Researches souvenir industry trends. Creates designs for apparel and hard goods. Establishes souvenir stand layouts and displays. Manages and expands the in-house catering program. Organizes, facilitates, manages, and expands special events and rentals. Assists with seasonal set-up and tear down activities. Evaluates industry trends to create, design, and implement strategies and operational procedures that increase productivity, profits, safety, and customer satisfaction. Performs other duties as needed. Bachelor's Degree in Business or Supervisory Management or related field. Three to five years of progressive service in facility and food/beverage management. Certification in CPR, First Aid and Wisconsin Food Manager, or ability to obtain within six months of employment. Valid driver's license and good driving record. A combination of equivalent experience and/or education may be considered. Considerable knowledge of principals, objectives, and ideas utilized in the coordination, supervision, and administration of facility management. Considerable knowledge of principles and techniques in effective recruitment, supervision, food and beverage management, and facility management. Extensive knowledge of financial bookkeeping and recordkeeping. Considerable skills in planning, programming, promoting, and coordinating activities of amusement facilities. Ability to analyze operational needs and maximize profits within budgetary constraints. Ability to solve problems, make decisions, delegate, and work under substantial pressure with exceptional organizational skills. Ability to communication effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to work as part of a team and maintain effective working relationships with staff, vendors, and the general public. Ability to utilize a computer and the required software. Ability to work the required hours of the position and an irregular work schedule. May be required to demonstrative minimum competency by successfully passing approved tests.

Ability to perform the following activities: Lifting and carrying up to 35 pounds. Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and bending. Ability to focus for long period of time on projects.
