About Holy Cross Holy Cross is a regional congregation , welcoming members and visitors from throughout the area. These communities include Menomonee Falls, Germantown, Richfield, Hubertus, Colgate, Lisbon, Sussex, Brookfield, Elm Grove, Wauwatosa, Milwaukee, Butler, and Brown Deer. We have over 1,500 members and are one of the over 8,894 congregations of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. About the Position Our next Facility Manager will support our congregation by ensuring that Holy Cross' campus including church, school, and all properties are well-maintained, clean, and ready for use by the congregation and visitors. The Facility Manager will create a welcoming, collaborative, positive, safe, and efficiently run building environment wherein work is completed timely and effectively, and all users are received with warmth and compassion. Our ideal candidate is someone who is self starter and willing to work between 20 - 25 hours per week with a flexible schedule . •
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the maintenance and repair of the church building, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural components. Develop, and implement, and document a maintenance schedule for routine inspections and upkeep. Coordinate with Director Church Administration any contractors and service providers for major repairs and renovations. Be aware of facility usage and scheduling for church services, events, and outside groups. Ensure compliance with local safety, fire, and building codes. Work with the Director, Church Administration to monitor security systems and coordinate security measures for the safety of the congregation and staff. Maintain inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies and ensure timely reordering. Assist in setting and managing the facility budget with Director, Church Administration and Property Team chair, including cost-saving initiatives. Support and problem-solve with staff and volunteers on property related issues. Support event set up and take down Respond promptly to facility-related emergencies and issues.
Your skills and experience:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in facility management or maintenance preferred. Experience in building management, maintenance, or a related field. Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repair work. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and proactively address maintenance issues. Good communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with church staff, volunteers, members, guests, and contractors. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed. Commitment to upholding the values and mission of the church.
