The Stacker will operate machines to sort and stack lumber.

POSITION DETAILS FULL-TIME PART-TIME 40 HOURS PER WEEK CONTRACTOR INTERN EXEMPT NONEXEMPT DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION
Must be able to fix cross ups as they occur. Must have good hand and eye coordination. Must be able to recognize the different sizes and lengths in wood as well as the different grades. Ensures equipment operates properly by completing daily cleanup tasks on and around equipment. Ensure products meet Thomasville quality specifications. Ensure sticks are properly placed in stacks. Ensures good stack quality.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Willing to work any shift including weekends, holidays, or overtime as needed. Commitment to safety. Excellent attendance record. Good communication skills. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to learn and adapt to change. Ability to adhere to all safety policies and regulations including wearing safety equipment. Ability to work in noisy envirnoment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift at least 40 pounds. Ability to work from elevated positions using required safety gear and procedures. Ability to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for extended periods of time. Able to work in a variety of environmental conditions.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GED required.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Preferred Experience:
Driving and operating a mobile equipment such as front end loader, skid steer or forklift within an industrial or manufacturing environment. Basic computer skills. Experience working in lumber or wood products industry and/or manufacturing. Experience troubleshooting equipment. Sawmill experience preferred. We Are An Equal Opportunity Employer
