Forklift Operator and Material Handler Job Description This role focuses on safely operating a Drexel forklift and handling materials in a busy warehouse environment. You will pull orders from multiple sections of the warehouse, manage inventory, and support shipping and receiving activities. The position requires frequent forklift use in narrow aisles and consistent attention to accuracy, safety, and productivity. Responsibilities Operate a Drexel forklift safely and efficiently in narrow warehouse aisles approximately 70% of the time. Pull and stage orders from three different sections of the warehouse according to pick lists and instructions. Handle, move, and organize pallets and materials to support daily warehouse operations. Support shipping and receiving by loading and unloading materials, verifying counts, and assisting with documentation as needed. Walk through the warehouse regularly to track, verify, and update inventory levels. Maintain organized storage areas and ensure materials are properly labeled and placed. Follow all safety procedures and warehouse protocols to protect people, equipment, and inventory. Collaborate with team members to meet deadlines and maintain a fast-paced, efficient workflow. Essential Skills Proven experience as a forklift operator in a warehouse environment. Hands-on experience operating a Drexel forklift or similar equipment in narrow spaces. Strong experience in warehouse order pulling and material handling. Experience with shipping and receiving processes. Ability to handle pallets safely and efficiently. Experience with inventory tracking and walking the warehouse to verify stock. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse setting. Commitment to following safety guidelines and operational procedures. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience as an order puller in a warehouse environment. Familiarity with construction-related products, small tools, and hardware is beneficial. Strong attention to detail and accuracy when pulling orders and tracking inventory. Ability to work both independently and as part of a warehouse team. Willingness to support various warehouse tasks beyond forklift operation as needed. Why Work Here? Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
