Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Forklift Operator/Material Handler to join our fast-paced warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating a 36k capacity forklift. Your expertise in warehouse management systems, inventory control, and safety protocols will ensure the safe and efficient loading of trailer trucks and unloading of rail cars. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing distribution environment while maintaining high safety standards and operational excellence. Duties Safely operate forklift trucks to load and unload rebar, plate, rebar coil, rebar spools. Manage inventory by accurately marking stacks with proper customer name and locations. Assist with shipping and receiving processes by verifying inbound and outbound shipments against documentation. Perform manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting and stacking materials while adhering to OSHA and safety standards in production environments. Conduct routine equipment inspections and minor repairs to ensure optimal performance of forklifts and other machinery. Maintain a clean, organized warehouse environment by properly storing materials and ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times. Qualifications Proven experience operating forklift trucks and other material handling equipment. Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, distribution processes, and inventory management systems. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently while following OSHA safety standards. Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying shipments accurately. Excellent manual handling skills combined with a keen attention to safety protocols in warehouse settings. Prior experience in warehouse lead or management is a plus but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
