Job Description
Mattress Unloader /
Candidates should understand that this is primarily a manual material-handling positionnot strictly a forklift position. Approximately 75% of the product will be moved by hand, while only about 25% will be moved using a forklift or other material-handling equipment.
Move approximately 75% of incoming product by hand.
Use a forklift for approximately 25% of product movement.
Safely lift, carry, push, pull, slide, and maneuver large and heavy merchandise.
Stage and organize incoming products in designated warehouse locations.
Inspect incoming merchandise for visible damage and report issues to warehouse leadership.
Maintain accurate product counts while unloading and staging merchandise.
Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and according to company procedures.
Keep docks, aisles, staging areas, and workspaces clean and free of hazards.
Work efficiently as part of a team to unload trailers within established productivity expectations.
Follow all warehouse safety procedures and proper lifting techniques.
Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned.
Candidates must be able to:
Perform heavy lifting repeatedly throughout the workday.
Manually handle large, bulky, and awkwardly shaped products.
Lift, push, pull, carry, and maneuver mattresses and other heavy bedding products safely.
Work on their feet for extended periods.
Bend, reach, twist, squat, and climb as required.
Work at a steady pace in an active warehouse environment.
Work cooperatively with another team member when handling products requiring a team lift. Qualifications & Employment RequirementsPrevious warehouse, unloading, material-handling, or distribution experience preferred.
Forklift experience preferred.
Must be willing and able to become forklift certified if not currently certified.
Must be comfortable performing primarily manual unloading and material handling.
Ability to safely perform repetitive heavy lifting.
Dependable attendance and punctuality are required.
Ability to follow instructions and warehouse safety procedures.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Ability to work the scheduled MondayFriday, 7:00 AM3:30 PM shift.
Employment is contingent upon successfully passing a pre-employment drug screening, which includes testing for marijuana, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
