Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated Marine Forklift Operator to join our dynamic logistics team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of heavy-duty material handling equipment to load, unload, and transport goods within our marine distribution facilities. Your expertise will ensure efficient warehouse operations, accurate inventory management, and adherence to safety standards. Responsibilities Operate forklift trucks, reach trucks, cherry pickers, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and Hi-Lo equipment to move materials safely and efficiently across the warehouse and marine dock areas Load and unload shipments from vessels, trucks, and storage areas while following all OSHA and safety protocols Conduct routine inspections and minor repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance Manage inventory using warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanning for logistics, and manual counts to maintain accurate stock levels Assist with order picking, shipping, receiving, and materials handling tasks with precision and attention to detail Follow manual handling procedures for heavy lifting tasks to prevent injuries and ensure safe work practices Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing storage areas, stacking pallets securely, and maintaining a clean work environment Skills Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, cherry pickers, clamp trucks, and load & unload machinery in a warehouse or marine setting Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanning technology, and inventory control procedures Familiarity with OSHA safety standards related to forklift operation and materials handling Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory counts, measurements, and load adjustments Excellent understanding of warehouse operations including shipping & receiving processes and materials handling techniques Skilled in equipment repair basics and performing safety checks on lift trucks and related machinery Demonstrated ability to lift heavy loads safely while following manual handling protocols Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors in a fast-paced environment Join us as a Marine Forklift Operator where your skills will directly impact our operational success!
