Job Description
Forklift Operator Location:
Lakeland, FL Position Summary Nesco Resource is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Forklift Operator to support warehouse and production operations. The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely transporting raw materials and finished goods throughout the facility, loading and unloading shipments, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring materials are delivered to the appropriate production areas in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will have previous forklift experience, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Safely operate sit-down and/or stand-up forklifts to move materials throughout the warehouse and production facility. Load and unload incoming and outgoing trucks efficiently and safely. Transport raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished products to designated locations. Stage materials for production and shipping. Perform inventory transactions and assist with cycle counts as needed. Inspect forklifts before each shift and report any maintenance or safety concerns. Ensure all products are handled carefully to prevent damage. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies. Assist with general warehouse duties, including wrapping pallets, labeling, and material handling. Work closely with warehouse, production, and shipping teams to meet operational goals. Qualifications Minimum of 1-2 years of recent forklift operating experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment. Ability to safely operate forklifts with minimal supervision. Previous experience loading and unloading trailers. Basic math, reading, and writing skills. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical Requirements Frequently lift up to 50 pounds . Stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach throughout the shift. Ability to work in varying warehouse temperatures. Comfortable working at heights when required. Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in a food ingredient, chemical, flavor, fragrance, or manufacturing environment is preferred. Forklift certification is a plus (or the ability to become certified). Schedule Day Shift and Night Shift Available Must be flexible to work overtime and weekends as needed.
