About the
Job:
The Material Handler operates material handling equipment to move stock and finished goods throughout the entire warehouse for the Shipping Department. That department is responsible for receiving, shipping, material handling and inventory control under the direction of the Shipping/Receiving Manager. A candidate for this position must be detail oriented, organized, safety conscious, able to multi-tasks, meet deadlines and work well under pressure in fast paced, high-growth environment.Duties and Responsibilities:
Transport appropriate quantities of material from warehouse to staging areas of production. Accurately track quantity and materials moved throughout the day. Wrap completed trays with stretch wrap, as necessary. Barcode, scan and input quantity for completed product. Use FIFO process to place completed product in correct inventory location. Complete and return corresponding paperwork to production scheduler daily. Work as a team member by interacting and communicating with fellow associates in a cooperative, constructive manner. Maintain levels of material as necessary. Condense multiple semi-full pallets of the same product/raw material into one pallet. Maintain clean and orderly production, warehouse and inventory areas. Other work as required. Work according to policies, procedures and work instructions.Skills and Competencies:
Must be able to follow written, oral instructions and be able to retain and carry out multiple work assignments Must be proficient in basic math skills, such as adding, subtracting, multiplication and division Must be able to operate industrial equipment safely such as a pallet jack and forklift Must be able to sit for entire shift and repeatedly push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, climb ladders and lift up to 50 pounds Must have experience using scan gun technology Must be detail oriented and have strong organizational skills Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected eventsJob Type:
