Job Description

POSITION
:
WAREHOUSEMAN DEPARTMENT
: Shipping & Receiving
POSITION SUMMARY
: Operate lift trucks and other material handling devices to move materials and finished goods within and between departments and onto trucks.
SHIFTS:
9:00AM to 5:00pm or 10:00AM to 6:00PM Union after 90 day probation

  • DUTIES and
RESPONSIBILITIES
: A. Be able to pick orders for shipping from a Sales Order. B. Must be able to package material for shipping in accordance with customer's requirements and applicable procedures. C. Understand the Move Ticket, Material I.D. and Routing systems to ensure proper part identification and delivery of parts within and between departments. D. Perform Forklift Inspection Bi-weekly per applicable safety procedures. E. Know the safety rules that apply to material handling and stacking. F. Skid building as required. G. Required to train other employees. H. Adhere to basic housekeeping of work area; i.e., wood, scrap metal, garbage, liquid spills. I. Comply with all health and safety procedures. J. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Shipping Coordinator.
REQUIRED
SKILLS and
KNOWLEDGE
: A. Verbal and written communication in English. B. Read blueprints. C. Certified Forklift Driver (Sit down & Stand up). D. Knowledge of shipping procedures. E.
Experience in the following:
  • Skidding and banding material
  • Calculating shipment weights
  • Ability to accurately piece and weigh count F.
Knowledge of company policies, procedures, shop and safety rules. G. Understanding of
ISO 9001
2015. H. Basic understanding of inspection equipment as it pertains to material identification. I. As required, ability to perform repetitive bending, kneeling, and lift cumbersome and or heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
Pay:
$21.00 - $22.50 per hour
