Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Forklift Operator and Material Handler to join our client's warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently operating various types of material handling equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, cherry pickers, to load, unload, and organize inventory within our warehouse distribution center. Your expertise in warehouse management systems and safety protocols will ensure smooth operations, accurate inventory control, and a safe working environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong manual handling skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to maintaining operational excellence. Monday - Friday $20/hr Duties Operate forklift trucks, reach trucks, cherry pickers,pallet jack equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with OSHA standards and company safety protocols. Load and unload shipments accurately using barcode scanning technology for logistics tracking. Pick orders precisely using order pickers and ensure correct items are prepared for shipping or storage. Manage inventory levels through proper materials handling, manual handling techniques, and warehouse management systems. Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance. Assist with shipping and receiving activities by verifying incoming goods against purchase orders and preparing outgoing shipments. Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment to promote safety and efficiency. Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize warehouse distribution processes. Support heavy lifting tasks requiring manual effort while adhering to safety standards in production. Utilize basic math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and documentation accuracy. Skills Proven experience operating forklift trucks, reach trucks, cherry pickers, pallet jacks. Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and barcode scanning for logistics. Familiarity with warehouse operations including shipping & receiving procedures. Understanding of OSHA safety standards related to materials handling and heavy equipment operation. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following manual handling protocols. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory management. Basic math skills for counting, measurements, and data entry accuracy. Experience with equipment repair or troubleshooting is a plus. Knowledge of warehouse distribution processes and materials handling best practices. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards.
