Temp-to-Hire Job Overview The Forklift Operator I is responsible for safely operating material handling equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This role supports efficient warehouse operations and accurate inventory management. In addition to forklift duties, this position may assist with order picking and order checking as needed. This role requires operating sit-down and/or clamp forklifts . Essential Duties & Responsibilities Operate forklifts (sit-down, clamp, and push-pull) to stack and store merchandise Safely unload inbound shipments and transport products to storage areas Pull, prepare, and stage products for shipment Verify product type and quantity for accuracy Perform order picking while meeting productivity and quality standards Move product from staging or storage areas into trailers Follow all safety procedures and operate equipment properly Maintain accurate inventory records and documentation Assist with physical inventory counts and cycle counts Ensure proper stock rotation Report inventory discrepancies and assist in resolving issues Complete equipment inspections prior to operation Use RF scanning equipment to track and verify inventory Report safety concerns promptly to management Perform additional duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Must have a minimum 3 months of recent forklift equipment experience Basic computer skills (Excel experience preferred) Strong attention to detail and basic math skills Good communication and customer service skills Physical Requirements Ability to stand and/or walk for 10-12 hours per shift Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs without restriction Frequent bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching (above and below waist level) Ability to work in a large distribution center (may exceed a quarter mile in length) Comfortable working in varying conditions (noise, lighting, and temperature changes) 10220961 Share this job Copied url To save a job sign in or get started To apply for this job email your details to I want more jobs like this in my inbox.
