Job Summary The Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and accurate movement of materials throughout the facility. This position plays a critical role in supporting production and warehouse operations by ensuring materials are handled properly, inventory is maintained accurately, and all activities are performed in compliance with company safety, quality, and environmental standards. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong situational awareness, attention to detail, physical stamina, and a proactive commitment to workplace safety. Duties and Responsibilities Operate forklift equipment safely and in full compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards at all times Maintain constant awareness of pedestrian traffic, production activity, and environmental conditions to prevent accidents or property damage Perform daily pre-shift inspections and complete required forklift safety checklists before operation Immediately report unsafe conditions, near-misses, equipment malfunctions, or incidents to supervision Safely move, load, unload, and stage raw materials and finished goods throughout the facility Frequently mount and dismount forklift to manually position, inspect, and handle materials Inspect products for quality, labeling accuracy, and damage before and after transport Secure loads properly to ensure safe transport and prevent shifting or product loss Stack and organize inbound and outbound materials in accordance with company procedures and warehouse layout standards Transport materials between production areas and designated warehouse locations efficiently Maintain accurate documentation of material movement, including inventory transactions as required Support general warehouse housekeeping to maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment Work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as operational needs require Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager Required Skills and Competencies Demonstrated commitment to operating safely in high-traffic manufacturing or warehouse environments Strong situational awareness and ability to safely maneuver in tight or congested areas Thorough understanding of forklift stability, load capacity, and safe material handling practices Ability to work independently while following verbal and written instructions Basic troubleshooting and equipment awareness Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED required Minimum of 5 years of forklift operating experience preferred Valid forklift certification required Experience in warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing environment preferred Physical Requirements Frequently mount and dismount forklift throughout the shift Lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs. regularly Stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods Work in hot, cold, dusty, or noisy environments as required Ability to work 8-12 hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays Omni Specialty Packaging is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE)
