Job Description

Job Summary Transports materials as required to maintain production schedules using safe Forklift driving practices. This position is deployed in a variety of industrial settings with rough driving surfaces, including a foundry, machine shop, and assembly area. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Adhere to Zero tolerance policy for Safety and Quality. Complete daily forklift checklist prior to beginning material handling job duties. Work well in team environment to ensure safety, quality, and production guidelines are followed Operate Forklift in accordance to ConMet safety requirements Follow written and verbal instructions. Coordinate and transport materials for operations, shipping, and receiving. Maintain inventory control through FIFO Perform 5s duties as outlined for material handlers Participate in shift meetings and audits. Changes propane fuel tanks on forklift when necessary. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required Six to twelve months related experience or training preferred Knowledge Ability to manipulate fork truck and lift Ability to manipulate fork truck and lift Skills Spatial organization and ability to consolidate pallets and containers safely and efficiently. Adequate hearing protection is provided and required at all times. Exposure to outside environmental conditions on a frequent basis. Occupational exposure to fumes, dust, and casting debris is regularly encountered. Personal Protective Equipment including safety glasses and steel-toed, industrial footwear is required at all times. Duties occasionally require reaching and lifting of objects up to 50 lbs. Propane tanks and associated equipment present a freeze burn hazard. Properly insulated gloves are provided and required during tank change-out.
