Overview We are seeking a dedicated Forklift Operator/Material Handler to join our dynamic warehouse team. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient movement, storage, and management of materials within our distribution center. The successful candidate will operate various types of material handling equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, cherry pickers, and clamp trucks, to facilitate shipping, receiving, inventory management, and order fulfillment. Responsibilities Safely operate forklift trucks to load and unload materials efficiently. Manage inventory through accurate barcode scanning and use of warehouse management systems to track stock levels. Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment with precision and attention to detail. Assist with shipping and receiving processes by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation. Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform basic repairs or report maintenance needs to ensure optimal operation. Follow warehouse safety protocols in accordance with OSHA standards to prevent accidents and injuries. Support manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting and materials movement within the warehouse. Maintain organized storage areas and ensure proper stacking using appropriate equipment. Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and improve distribution processes. Utilize basic math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and calculations related to shipping weights or dimensions. Experience Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory control and order processing. Prior experience in shipping & receiving operations within a distribution or manufacturing environment. Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and manual material handling. Strong understanding of warehouse operations including inventory management, order picking, load & unload procedures, and barcode scanning technology. Experience with equipment repair or maintenance is a plus but not mandatory. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to manual handling best practices. Basic math proficiency for accurate inventory counts and measurements. Previous supervisory experience in warehouse management is advantageous but not required.
