Ongoing Order Apply Now Back to Search The Manufacturing Material Handler / Warehouse Operator is responsible for operating material-handling equipment, managing product movement, supporting production operations, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. This position requires proficiency with warehouse management systems, accurate product tracking, and the ability to work safely in a team-oriented manufacturing facility. Work Environment The work area is climate-controlled and clean. Employees may experience hot and humid conditions, loud machinery, and strong but not overwhelming tobacco odors. This position involves working in a team setting, with occasional independent assignments. Detailed Job Duties and Responsibilities Material Handling & Equipment Operations Operate forklifts, stand-up lifts, and JLG aerial lifts in accordance with established safety procedures. Receive schedules and instructions from the Control Room Specialist (CRS). Identify machine numbers, material types, and required quantities. Prepare and clean machines or assemble large boxes as needed. Set up and operate portable conveyor belts following CRS inspection and approval. Assign products to containers and designate destinations using RF scanners. Work collaboratively with team members to complete the pull-out process. Confirm container counts with the CRS and resolve discrepancies. Clean and properly store equipment after use. Record waste amounts accurately. Machine Operations Confirm equipment status with the CRS and review the Age Summary Spreadsheet. Retrieve and scan products while verifying product identification and lot numbers. Load products into equipment gradually to prevent jams and equipment issues. Clean equipment after use and document cleaning activities in the management system. Dust Room Attendant Duties Operate powered industrial vehicles (PIVs), scanners, and metal banding equipment. Monitor containers and replace them as needed. Assign, weigh, and properly stage containers. Band boxes as needed and maintain an adequate supply of empty containers. Perform weekly cleaning using a JLG lift in accordance with safety procedures. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the dust room. General Housekeeping Sweep floors and mop curbs. Manage cardboard recycling. Keep containers organized and properly staged. Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area. Follow established housekeeping, safety, and sanitation procedures. Equipment and Tools Used Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) equipment, including forklifts, stand-up lifts, and aerial lifts. RF scanners and computers. Portable conveyor belts. Metal banding equipment. Pitchforks, brooms, shovels, air wands, and other related tools. Qualifications and Requirements Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds. Ability to climb stairs and access elevated work areas as required. Ability to reach above shoulder level to perform job duties. Ability to stand in one position for extended periods. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and perform other physical movements as needed. Basic math skills for inventory management and quantity verification. Proficiency in operating RF scanners for product tracking and data entry. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work effectively with minimal supervision when required. Ability to operate material-handling equipment safely and follow all applicable workplace safety procedures. Previous manufacturing, warehouse, or material-handling experience preferred.
