Material Handler/Forklift Operator

Job Description

Summary Ensure incoming orders are accurate. Correctly track, inventory, and store incoming products. Maintain efficient movement and organization of the receiving yard. Ensure machine operators have the material needed for current jobs. Stage the shop in preparation for upcoming work. Material Handlers use overhead cranes and various forklifts. This position primarily involves working outdoors. Responsibilities Verify the incoming load for accuracy against the bill of material. Inventory incoming materials using barcode scanner/stickers. Store and organize material. Stage material in advance for upcoming jobs. Identify and resolve issues related to missing or damaged materials. Deliver material to machine operators using an overhead crane. Maintain a clean, well-organized, and safe yard. Follow and adhere to all outlined job processes. Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations, pre-use inspections, and general maintenance of equipment. Communicate with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient operations. Work efficiently in all forms of weather. Performs other related duties as assigned. Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Two to five years' experience in a similar industry. Must have two years of experience operating a forklift, rough terrain forklift, and overhead crane. One year inventory management and be familiar with inventory tracking systems. Required Skills Strong organizational skills. Attention to detail, work must be performed accurately and thoroughly. Plan and organize work to meet deadlines. Ability to safely operate an overhead crane, heavy terrain forklift, combilift, and forklift. Read a tape measure. Basic computer and math skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Prompt and dependable attendance. Ability to read and interpret various documents and blueprints. Effective communication with team members and supervisors. Be able to work independently and as part of a team. Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. Willingness to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.

$23.50 - $25.50 per hour
