JOB SUMMARY

: Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a forklift used to load trucks, supply packaging materials, and transport product to and from the shipping areas.

DAILY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

: Utilize a forklift to load and unload trucks used for shipping finished product, as well as handle and transport materials throughout the facility. Hand stack, palletize, label, and conduct inventory counts as needed. Stage product and inspects shipping tags and documents to ensure accuracy. Always maintain a current forklift certification. Perform general cleaning of loading dock areas and associated warehouse and product travel paths. Assist with training of co-workers as needed. Participate as an active team member of production in assigned area. Assist in training of co-workers as directed. Ensure compliance with established food safety programs, including HACCP programs, SSOPs and GMPs. Effectively follow directions of the lead, supervisor, or manager at all times. Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Effectively communicate and positively interact with team members in all departments. Attend meetings and trainings as required. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or lead.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION

Ability to comprehend and follow instructions. Ability to work in a refrigerated environment ranging from 35-50 degrees Fahrenheit. MUST be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to frequent changes to the needs of production. MUST be a team player. MUST be able to pass required physical including demonstrating your ability to lift the required weight for each position. MUST be able to stand and/or walk for entire 8-hour shift. MUST wear correct job specific PPE as designated by company policy.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

Minimum of one year experience operating a sit down or stand up forklift, skid steer, high reach, powered pallet jack, or riding pallet jack is preferred. Previous experience in a warehouse or production or manufacturing facility is preferred.
