$22.00/hour Opportunity to be hired on permanently at a higher pay rate

Schedule Training Period:

1st Shift, Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM (through October)

Regular Schedule:

2nd Shift, Monday-Friday Must be flexible to start between 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM Typical shifts are 10-12 hours

Overtime:

20+ hours per week during peak season, including weekends as needed Position Overview We are seeking a dependable, safety-focused Forklift Operator / Material Handler to join our team in Bergen, NY. This position is responsible for operating forklifts, loading and unloading materials, supporting production operations, and maintaining inventory throughout the facility. Candidates must be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in a fast-paced industrial yard environment that can be dusty and subject to changing weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow. The ideal candidate is a team player who values safety, takes pride in their work, and is willing to assist with a variety of warehouse, production, and housekeeping duties as needed. Essential Job Duties Perform daily forklift inspections, safety checks, and fluid level monitoring Supply production and packaging lines with pallets and materials Remove finished products from production lines and operate stretch-wrapping equipment Load and unload trucks safely and accurately Verify shipments against Bills of Lading (BOLs) and report discrepancies Store finished goods in designated warehouse locations Conduct inventory counts and assist with inventory control functions Support production operations and material movement throughout the facility Maintain cleanliness of work areas through sweeping, shoveling, pallet restacking, and debris removal Follow all company safety policies and procedures Meet productivity, quality, and accuracy expectations Qualifications Previous forklift operating experience required Experience in warehouse, manufacturing, production, or material handling environments preferred Ability to safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis Comfortable climbing on and off equipment repeatedly throughout the shift Able to sit for extended periods while operating machinery Basic math, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions in English Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions Willingness to work mandatory overtime, including weekends and holidays during peak periods Work Environment Indoor warehouse and outdoor yard environment Exposure to dust, noise, heat, cold, rain, and snow Fast-paced operation supporting production and shipping activities Safety-sensitive position requiring consistent adherence to safety standards
