Forklift Driver Job Description:

Operate heavy-duty forklifts with capacities up to 40,000 lbs to safely move large steel components, pressure vessels, boilers, and fabricated assemblies throughout the facility. Load and unload oversized materials from flatbed trailers and delivery trucks while ensuring proper securement and handling procedures. Transport materials between production, welding, fabrication, paint, and shipping departments. Safely maneuver oversized loads in confined manufacturing areas while maintaining awareness of personnel and equipment. Assist with staging materials for production schedules and customer shipments. Support inventory management by organizing material storage areas and performing material movements as required. Utilize chains, straps, spreader bars, and lifting attachments when handling large or irregular loads. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including shipping and receiving zones. Assist with warehouse and yard operations as needed to support manufacturing activities.

Forklift Driver Skills:

Experience operating 40K lb capacity forklifts in a manufacturing, fabrication, steel, oil & gas, or heavy industrial environment. Knowledge of oversized load handling and material staging. Strong understanding of workplace safety procedures. Ability to work outdoors and lift up to 50 lbs when required. Forklift certification preferred. Experience working around cranes and heavy equipment is a plus.
