1-2 year minimum! Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently operating various types of heavy equipment, including forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks, to facilitate the safe and accurate movement of materials within the warehouse. Your expertise in warehouse distribution, order picking, shipping and receiving, and materials handling will be essential to maintaining smooth operations and ensuring timely delivery of goods. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, familiarity with warehouse management systems, and a commitment to safety standards such as OSHA regulations. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced environment where precision and safety are paramount. Duties Operate forklifts, clamp trucks, crane equipment, and other heavy machinery safely to load, unload, and transport materials throughout the warehouse. Load and unload shipments with heavy lifting techniques while adhering to safety protocols. Manage shipping and receiving processes by verifying incoming and outgoing goods against documentation. Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory control, stock replenishment, and order tracking. Conduct routine maintenance checks on heavy equipment to ensure mechanical integrity and report any issues promptly. Assist with materials handling tasks such as pallet jack operation and load securing for transportation. Support warehouse supervision in maintaining organized storage areas and optimizing space utilization. Follow OSHA safety guidelines consistently to prevent accidents and promote a safe working environment. Collaborate with team members to improve operational workflows and ensure timely order fulfillment. Experience Proven experience operating forklifts, clamp trucks, cranes, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment within a warehouse or construction setting. Strong background in warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, and materials handling procedures. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners for inventory accuracy. Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and warehouse safety protocols. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic maintenance checks on machinery. Previous experience in a supervisory role or with warehouse management system oversight is advantageous. Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during order picking and load/unload activities.
